Creative Revolution is delighted to announce the dates for four upcoming pop‑up events, marking a major milestone for the project. These vibrant events will showcase work from across the organisation’s programme—including Artists Jam, YouSpeak! Creatives, and schools projects—and bring together participants, families, artists, and communities in shared celebratory spaces.
Each event will be hosted in partnership with local organisations and venues such as Kakou, Chesterfield College, Barrow Hill Community Trust, and Community Growth CIC, and shaped through collaboration with schools and local artists.
Organisers said it was a unique opportunity for young people to see their work on public display, plus a chance to showcase and celebrate the thriving creative scene in Chesterfield.
Lucie Maycock, Artist and Creative Revolution Partner said: “We’re hoping this event will bring the community together in a vibrant celebration of local creativity. And for the young people taking part, we want it to be something unforgettable—an experience they can feel proud of and a legacy that continues to inspire”.
Through the project Creative Revolution has focused on community and creativity. Through YouSpeak! Creatives, Chesterfield’s young creatives have shaped the re-brand and identity of the project, giving them real ownership and influence. Their ideas and perspectives have ensured that Creative Revolution reflects the energy and ambition of the next generation.
Ten local schools have signed up to the Schools Creativity Programme, opening doors for hundreds of children to explore new skills and artforms. From poetry to puppetry, visual art to willow craft, students are working alongside established local artists to broaden horizons and spark imagination.
Behind the scenes, Creative Revolution is also strengthening Chesterfield’s creative economy. Eleven local artists have already been engaged in paid roles, gaining high‑quality professional development and employment opportunities—a remarkable achievement with much of the programme still to come.
